Scratch-n-Sniff

Strawberry_copy_2

This is a card that we made at our demonstrator shoebox swap earlier in the month.  I based the design on a card that was featured in Stampin' Success last year.

The strawberry image is from the Tart and Tangy stamp set in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  I stamped it with Real Red Craft ink, poured a mixture of clear embossing powder and sugar-free strawberry Kool-aid over the ink, shook off the excess, and heated it until it melted.  I've seen alot of tutorials on the scratch-n-sniff technique that call for specific amounts of embossing powder and kool-aid or jell-o.....I just mix near equal amounts of both and that seems to work well for me.

The stem is a felt fusion flower that I cut in half and attached with glue dots.  The border was created with the corner rounder punch and crop-a-dile.

Here are some card measurements if you would like to CASE:

Real Red Base:  3" x 5-3/4"

Bashful Blue:  5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored at 2-3/4" and 5-1/2"

And a couple of views of the inside:

Other Supplies:

Stamp Sets:  Circle of Friendship, Stem Sayings

Ink:  Basic Black

Paper:  Whisper White, Real Red, Basic Black, Summer Picnic DSP

Accessories:  Circle punches (1-3/8", 1-1/4", 3/4"), Striped Red Ribbon, Scallop punch, Black brad

More Baby Scrapbook Pages

Slider_page_1

My class is finally complete and ready to go!  I wanted to share the cover page with you.....it is an interactive page featuring a slider on the front, so you have lots of room for pictures and journaling.  Isn't it the coolest?  I learned this technique at the Creating Keepsakes convention I attended a few weeks ago and I couldn't wait to scraplift the design for my Stampin' Up! pages.  The page on the left was made using the Special Delivery girl kit and the page on the right was made with Special Delivery Boy kit.  At the class on May 10th, we'll be completing 8, 12" x 12" layouts, and I'm sure you'll love them all!

You only have until Monday, May 5th to register for the class.  Cost is $35 and must be paid with your registration.  The fee includes supplies, instructions, and lunch from Fazoli's.  The class will be held at the stamp shack from 10am--4pm.

And for everyone else that can't attend......

Place an order of $50 or more that includes a Special Delivery Simply Scrappin' kit and I will email you all the layouts with instructions for FREE!  This offer is good only until May 31st and only through me!  Email me today with your order at melissa42@msn.com

Demonstrator Class Planner   $20

Are you a demonstrator that would like to offer a scrapbooking class to your own customers?  I'll send you all the handouts, as well as some helpful tips to help you have a successful and profitable class.  Upon receipt of your payment, I will send you an email with all the documents you will need so you can start your planning right away!

NOTE:  The class planner does not include any product.  You will receive 7 Word documents by email within 24 hours of payment.

A Scrapbook for Baby

I often find that people are a bit intimidated by scrapbooking.  Many just don't know where to begin.....so, let's start at the beginning!

I am currently putting the finishing touches on my upcoming BABY SCRAPBOOKING CLASS scheduled for May 10th.  We'll be using the Special Delivery Simply Scrappin' kits from Stampin' Up! to complete 8 stunning 12" x 12" layouts.  I have done all the design work for you.  All you have to do is gather some baby pictures and you'll be all ready to go!

Would you like a sneak peek?

Baby_page_4_5_copy

During the morning of the class, we'll put together the base of the pages.  After a fabulous lunch, you'll have time to add your own special touches and pictures.  I'll have lots of stamp sets available for you to use and I'll be on hand to offer any help you may need.

Most of the photo mats I have designed are 4" x 6", so you'll only need to crop your photos a little bit to fit on most pages.  However, larger or smaller photos will also fit just by slight modifications to the layouts.

I have added complete class information to the BABY SCRAPBOOK PAGE.  There is also a TO GO option and a Demonstrator Class Planner available.

Feel free to contact me for more information

Trio of Techniques

Hpim1907

I'm very excited to announce a new class that will be offered on Friday, April 25th at 6:30pm at the Stamp Shack.  It's called TRIO OF TECHNIQUES:  Tart & Tangy.

NOTE:  The class date has been changed to May 23rd due to a scheduling conflict.  Sign up extended to May 19th.

See the cute stationary portfolio above?  It's made with the new Summer Picnic Designer Series Paper and the Tart & Tangy stamp set--both featured in the Occasions 2008 Mini Catalog.  I love the bright, bold color pallete of Real Red, Old Olive, Bashful Blue, and Pumpkin Pie.  Just wait until you see what's on the inside....

Hpim1906

Inside, there are three hand-stamped cards with matching stamped envelopes!  So cute!  But wait, there's more.....

Each of the three cards features a different stamping technique.

Hpim1902

The first card with the orange slice is a scratch 'n sniff card.  Just scratch the orange image and you'll be rewarded with the scent of fresh citrus!

Hpim1905

The strawberry card is a slider card, and the apple card was made using the chalkboard technique.

Don't these cards just make your mouth water?  If you would like to attend the class on April 25th, be sure to RSVP no later than April 23rd.  Space is limited and will be filled on a first-come basis.  Cost of the class is $20 per person and includes all supplies and instructions.

If you are unable to attend a class for any reason, order it TO GO! Your packet will be available for pick-up at my office the Tuesday after the class is held at no additional charge. Or simply add $5.00 to the camp or class fee and I will priority mail the materials to you.

I have added quite a few new classes to my schedule for April and May.  You can view the complete listing at http://stampdoc.stampinup.net under EVENTS.  I'll be adding more sneak peeks in the coming weeks, so check back often.

Happy Stampin'
