Congratulations Graduates!

Grad card Here is a card that we made at the last Stamp-a-Stack.....just in time for graduation gift-giving!

  • Stamp Sets: Year after Year, Amazing to Zany, Seeing Spots wheel

  • Ink: Versamark, Basic Black

  • Paper: Whisper White, Brushed Gold, Basic Black

  • Accessories: Vintage Brad, Hodgepodge hardware, Gold Embossing Powder, Word Window punch, jumbo handle, dimensionals, mini glue dots

  • Measurements for Card Layers:

Whisper White: 4-1/4" x 8-1/2", 2-3/4" square
Brushed Gold: 4" square, 2-1/2" square
Basic Black: 3-3/4" square, 2-1/4" square (2 of these)

DIRECTIONS:

The seeing spots wheel was rolled in versamark over the basic black cardstock, then heat embossed with gold embossing powder.  I stamped two of the caps in versamark, embossed with gold, and then cut out the top portion of one of the caps.  I added a vintage brad to the center of the cap and popped it up with a dimensional over the second stamped image.

"Congrats" was stamped in Basic Black ink onto a scrap of whisper white cardstock.  I used the word window punch to punch out the word.  I added mini glue dots to the back of the hodgepodge hardware ribbon slide and centered it over the punched out word.  The ends were then trimmed with scissors and the entire piece was adhered to the front of the card (put adhesive directly on the card rather than hardware).

What's for Dinner?

Update:  Any orders placed before May 31, 2008 will be shipping on June 24th.  Due to supply issues, the local class has been cancelled.  However, I will accept orders for additional class kits through June 30th with kits scheduled to ship by July 10th.

If your family is anything like mine, you probably hear that question A LOT!  Like many of you, our family is looking for ways to trim our budget and one thing we have definitely cut back on is eating out at restaurants.  Unfortunately for me, that means planning meals and cooking.......not my strengths at all!  I'm also very busy with my 2 children, chiropractic office and Stampin' Up! class schedule, so meals need to be quick and easy at my house.  I plan to use this cookbook to record quick, easy, and delicious recipes that my family will enjoy.

May Scrapbook Club Pages & Specials

May_scrapbook_page_2

We completed the pages above this past weekend at scrapbook club.  The ladies that attended really enjoyed learning how to make metallic accents and they got to use the carousel notes from the Occasions mini catalog.  I taught them how to create a scallop border using the slit punch and showed them how to dry emboss with the Pick a Petal Classy Brass template.

Here is a close-up view of the flowers:

The centers are pop-up glue dots!  We poured gold embossing powder over the glue dots and then heated them until the powder melted.  It really gives a shiny gold metallic finish and looks fabulous!

Stampin' Up! also announced some specials for the month of May.  Be sure to check the BABY SCRAPBOOK PAGES link on the right to see one more of my specials.
