May is National Scrapbooking Month

To celebrate National Scrapbooking Month, I thought it would be a great idea to kick things off with a scrapbook project.  For my next class, I designed a super quick & easy Baby Scrapbook Album that could be completed in just a few hours and with minimal supplies.  But be warned.....all of the supplies are on the retirement list and are only available while supplies last.

For this project, you will need:

Nursery1
Nursery Nest Designer Series Paper

Item #122347

Price   $10.95

Nursery2Nursery Nest Quick Accents Kit

Item #122370

Price:  $9.95

Nursery3
Polka Dot Party 6" x 6" Designer Printed Album

Item #122466

Price:  $10.95

Whisperwhite

Whisper White 12" x 12" Smooth Card Stock

Item #124302

Price:  $5.95

You'll need to have some adhesive and Stampin' Dimensionals on hand, but that is the extent of the supply list.  Cool, huh?

Please note:  You will have leftover Designer Series Paper and cardstock....enough to make some cards, scrapbook pages, or even another album (just add on more of the accents to your order).

This project was inspired by an album I saw at last year's convention.  I think this would be a great way to decorate the cover!

Now here is a look at all of the layouts:

Babyscrapbook

I've posted each layout separately on my FACEBOOK page if you would like a closer look.  Be sure to LIKE my page and leave me a nice comment while you are there!

I did mostly "girly" pages, but you can easily switch out the paper patterns to make any of the layouts for a boy.  These albums make a great gift for an expectant mom, grandparents, or anyone that has a child.

You can order any of these products on my Stampin' Up! website.  I'm not sure there would be enough interest in a tutorial since the pages are fairly straightforward.  However, if you would like a tutorial to be offered, just leave me a comment.

I've got more scrapbooking projects in the works, so you can look forward to a month of My Digital Studio creations and 12" x 12" layouts.

Thanks for stopping by!

Blast from the Past

We made this card at a class way back in January.  Of course, I was getting ready for Valentine's day, hence the use of a Valentine's stamp set.  I think that this card could be used for other occasions as well, don't you?

Race to the Finish

It's coming down to the wire and I only have a few more days to share all my projects from the Occasions Mini catalog with you.  Remember, these products are only available until April 30th.

For a recent workshop, I was looking for a project to demonstrate the new Diagonal Scoring Plate.  I ran across this video from Stampin' Up! that showed how simple it is to create your own envelopes.

What I really loved was the card.  It features the Sweet Shop Designer Series Paper, Mouthwatering stamp set, and the Cherry Scented embossing powder.

The background on the card and on the envelope label was also created with the Diagonal scoring plate.  Get these products now before they are gone forever.  You can shop anytime on my Stampin' Up! website.

Pretty Ponies

Ustampcoolmoves12final450
Today I'm sharing my second set of cards from Cards with Cool Moves.  For this round of UStamp, we did cards that featured some type of movement.  I used the Pony Party stamp set.....actually, I had to "borrow" this stamp set from my daughter.  It's one of her favorites and she kept asking when I was going to return it.

This is such a fun stamp set for little girls.  I purchased it for my daughter so that she would have her own stamps to use, but I love it just as much.  There are so many cool accessories for the ponies--wings, a horn, flowers, butterflies, and rainbows.  Now for the sad part....this stamp set is retiring and is only available until May 31st.

The retiring accessories will be posted tomorrow.  Be sure to look for the link at the top of the blog.  Accessories are sold while supplies last, so if there is something you want....get it fast.  You can order anytime on my Stampin' Up website.

The complete tutorial for this set of cards is available on Cards with Cool Moves.  In fact, there are more than 40 tutorials availble in this session and they are amazing!  The website will remain open for several months, so it's not too late to join.

Love & Laughter

Ustampcoolmoves12final450
I'm a little late in sharing my projects from the most recent session of UStamp.  For this round, we did cards that featured some type of movement.  My first set of cards was created with the Love & Laughter stamp set and the Wedding Words jumbo wheel from the Occasions Mini catalog.

From the Attic

Class Kits by Mail & Tutorials

I've had quite a few requests to post the tutorials from my recent card classes.  It was alot of work, but I've got them all done.  There are three classes that feature products from the Occasions Mini catalog.  Since the ordering period for this mini catalog ends April 30th, I will take orders for class kits through Friday, April 27th.  You may also purchase the tutorials only.....in case you already have the products or plan to place an order.

You've already seen two of the classes--Sweet Shop cards and Flower Power--but I think this final class is my FAVORITE!  I wasn't crazy about the Attic Boutique suite of products in the beginning, but these cards really changed my mind.

Fromtheatticcards2

To make these cards quick & simple, I used the Attic Boutique side notes.  I also used the Rue Des Fleurs stamp set for the greetings and the cute umbrella.

My customers will be making these cards on Friday night and I hope they enjoy them just as much as I do.

Flower Power Part 2

Here are the other 2 cards from the recent Flower Power Cards Class.  We used the Blossom Builders kit to create the flower.  I was surprised to find out that some of the flowers coordinated beautifully with the new Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper.

Daffodilflowerpower

The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and was stamped on one of the "flag"-thingys in the kit.  I attached it to the cards with a hat pin (the ball at the end had fallen off when I took the pic, so imagine it doesn't look like an accident waiting to happen.).

Summer smooches brads

The brad in the center is part of Summer Smooches promotion and these are only available this month.  Be sure to add them to your order,as they are too cute to pass up!

Getwellflowerpower

The greeting on this card is from the stamp set, Perfectly Penned.

All of the cards from this class were quick, simple, and easy to duplicate.  Many of my class attendees stocked up on these beautiful papers, brads, and Blossom Builders kits so that they would also be able to make a fast card for any occasion.  And the best part is you don't need a ton of supplies!

Flower Power

The first class at my new Stampin' space was this past weekend.  I added a few more pictures of the space to my Facebook page.  I invite you to LIKE the page and leave me a comment with a suggestion for the new name of this space.  I've already gotten some good ideas and I'm seriously considering a few of them.

The class was called Flower Power and each person created 8 cards, 2 each of 4 designs, with the Blossom Builders kit in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  This kit is so much fun and we had a great time making some amazing flowers.

Blossombuilders

For two of the cards, I used a very simple design that allows Designer Series Paper to peek out from behind a punched out section of the card.  We then layered multiple flowers to create a beautiful bouqet.  The pink adhesive rhinestones are a nice and quick accent.

PAPER:  Whisper White Card Stock, 2010-2012 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack

And that's it!!!!  If you want to step it up a bit more, try a card like this.....

Poppyflowerpower

For this card, I used the Stripes Embossing Folder and the stamp set, Teeny Tiny Wishes.  The little "flag" piece also comes with the Blossom Builders kit....what a great value!!!

If you would like to order any of the products you've seen here, simply visit my online store and click on the SHOP NOW button.

Check back tomorrow and I'll be sharing the other 2 cards from the Flower Power class.  There are more classes coming up and I would love to have you join me for a few hours of crafting fun.  Be sure to check out my events page for all the details.

My New Stampin' Studio

The month of January brought some major changes to our family.  The week that I was suppose to be at Leadership in San Antonio, my daughter Bella was hospitalized and subsequently diagnosed with Crohn's Disease.  I had already planned to be off from work that week, so it actually worked out well considering the circumstances.

That week she was in the hospital was a bit of a blur, but my husband and I knew we would need to make some significant changes in our family's diet and our work schedules.  It was decided that I would work 2 days per week until Bella returned to school in the Fall.  I would take care of the meal-planning and grocery shopping that had become a bit more complicated.  Now, if you know me, you know that I'm always doing SOMETHING and working part-time/cooking would eventually drive me crazy if I didn't have another "project".

Sometime during January we received a call from the property manager of our office building.  The space next to us had just become available and it was being offered to us first before showing it to anyone else.  It's a small space and we've had our eye on it for awhile.  We just didn't have a reason to expand our chiropractic office, but we also didn't want anyone else to have it.

My husband came home from work one night and asked if I thought I could cover the rent of the additional space by holding stamping classes there.  What an idea!  He is a brilliant man after all.  We went back and forth for several weeks, then finally decided to take the plunge.

The space needed a little work and a lot of cleaning.  The walls that were originally Baby Poop Yellow (yes, that's a real color) were painted a soft, light blue.  I added some Decor Elements to the walls, a few pieces of furniture from IKEA, tables, chairs, and VOILA!  A new stamping space for all of my classes.

There is plenty of parking, it is well-lit, safe, centrally-located in Kokomo off US 31, and close to many hotels and restaurants.  I look forward to hosting some scrapbooking weekends in addition to my regular classes.

So, after a lot of hard work, I held the first class this past Saturday.  My ladies enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere of the studio and most of them signed up for another class before leaving.

If you are local to Kokomo, IN area, I hope that you'll join me for an upcoming class.  You can see my complete list of events by visiting http://stampdoc.stampinup.net/events

The Grand Opening for the new Stamp Studio will be on Saturday, May 12th.  I'll have more details to share with you soon.

Tomorrow, I'll share with you some of the projects that the ladies were making in the photo above.

Thanks for stopping by!

Question of the Day:  What should I name the new space?  I previously held classes at "The Stamp Shack" and this place is definitely NOT a shack.  I'm looking for some creative ideas from the most creative people I know.
