Awash With Flowers

I've been busy stamping with the brand new stamp set, Awash with Flowers.  It is a preview stamp set from the upcoming 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog, but you can purchase it now through April 30th.  And just wait until you see how versatile it is!!!

For this card, I started with a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" piece of Whisper White card stock, folded in half to create the card base.  I added a layer of Whisper White card stock measuring 3-3/4" x 5" to create some dimension.

The flower panel is a 2-1/2" x 3-3/4" piece of watercolor paper layered onto a 2-3/4" x 4" piece of Basic Black card stock and raised with stampin' dimensionals.

The flowers were stamped with Black Staz-on ink and colored using the Soft Subtles Watercolor crayons with an aquapainter.

The great thing about watercoloring is it doesn't have to be perfect!  In fact, it actually looks better if you color outside the lines!

We'll be making this card at my upcoming Flower Power Stamp-a-Stack on Friday, April 16th.  If you live in the Kokomo, Indiana area, you certainly don't want to miss this fun card class.  I'll have class kit by mail and tutorial information available soon for those that are unable to attend.

There are also several floral stamp sets on special during the month of April.  Check out the sales flyer and hop on over to my Stampin' Up! website to place your order.

Happy Stampin'

Lucky You!

My monthly scrapbook club was held today and I wanted to surprise my club members with something a little different.  We usually do a 2-page 12" x 12" seasonal layout, so I thought St. Patrick's day would be a perfect theme.  However, I don't own any stamps with shamrocks, clovers, or leprechauns.  Time to get creative......

The base of the pages are Kraft & Old Olive card stock.  I added Garden Green and various patterns of paper from the Sweet Pea Designer Series paper pack.  But here is the show-stopper....

Mojo Monday 129

Mojo129There is a first time for everything.....I actually completed a Mojo Monday sketch on MONDAY!!!  I've been itchin' to stamp for the past week and this sketch was just what I needed to get my Mojo flowing again.

I stamped the Bella Toile in Pretty in Pink onto Whisper White card stock for the background.  Then I used 2 different Designer Series Papers for the layers.  The dots are from the Tea Party collection and the Houndstooth pattern is from the Sweet Pea collection.  The white background was embossed with the perfect polka dots embossing folder and the big shot.

For the bunny, I used the Chocolate Bunny stamp with Chocolate Chip craft ink.  I then heat embossed the image with clear embossing powder and a heat tool.  The bunny was cut out and adhered to the front panel with dimensionals.

And finally, I used the Pretty in Pink satin ribbon to tie the project together.

This card would definitely be perfect for Easter, but you could easily use it for a new baby or a baby shower card.
