One more cupcake....

 

Sticking with my cupcake theme, I thought I would share this fabulous card I received in a convention swap.  There was not any information on the back, so I am unsure of who to credit.  If it is yours, please let me know.

We'll be making a modified version of this card at my Fancy Folds class on Friday, August 28th.  The cost is $20 per person and includes all your supplies (except adhesive) to make 10 cards.  You must register with payment by this Friday, August 21st to reserve your spot.  I promise the other 4 card designs are  drool worthy and I'll be sharing those over the next few days. 

This type of card is called a Free-Standing Pop-Up card and there is a fabulous tutorial on SCS if you would like to learn how to make one.

This card uses the Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set and features many of the new IN COLORS--Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Bermuday Bay, Crushed Curry, and Soft Suede.

Cupcake Craziness

I promised to share this month's scrapbook club project with you after the class today.  This project is a little more involved than the layouts we typically do, but I think my ladies enjoyed doing something different.

Below is a picture of the album cover:

 

The base of the album was made from 3 brown paper lunch sacks.  If you have kids, you probably have some....somewhere.  I purchased the "giant size" bags from Target.  You get about 50 for less than $2.

The bags were folded in half, then layered with the open end going in different directions.  Using the crop-a-dile, we punched 3 holes along the spine of our album and tied light pink grosgrain through the holes.

The large cupcake was paper-pieced using Soft Suede, Pretty in Pink and Melon Mambo paper.  The image was stamped onto each cardstock and then the individual layers--cherry, icing, and liner--were put together.  The liner was crimped with the paper crimper to make it look a littler more realistic.  Crystal effects was used on the cherry and to adhere the pink beads or "sprinkles" onto the top of the cupcake.

It's just not fair that I had to go back to work immediately after convention!  This past week has been so busy and I haven't had any time to post my new goodies.

Pencil Case Tutorial

I made a bunch of these Halloween pencil cases for a WOW 3D swap.  I think what makes them a WOW is how little cardstock and adhesive it takes to make one.  These go together so easily and are perfect for many different occasions.

So Chic

My favorite color combo from the new catalog has to be Melon Mambo, Whisper White, and Basic Black.  I guess that's not real surprising....look at my blog colors!

And my first stamp purchases from the new catalog were the French Filigree and Chic Boutique stamp sets.  So, I combined my favorite colors with my favorite stamps to create this WOW card.

 

 Stamp Sets:  Chic Boutique, French Filigree

Ink:  Basic Black classic ink

Paper:  Whisper White card stock, Basic Black card stock, Melon Mambo card stock

Accessories:  Melon Mambo polka dot ribbon, large oval punch, scallop oval punch, wide oval punch, crystal effects, micro beads, dimensionals

Now you can't really tell from the picture above, but what makes this a WOW card is the beaded Eiffel Tower.  I covered the tower first with a thin layer of Crystal Effects, then poured on micro beads.  This card has a lot of dimension and sparkle.

 

I only made 30 of these and I think I used half the container of micro beads.  A little goes a long way!

This card is so bright and cheerful!  It has two Big Shot elements---a textured dot background on Whisper White cardstock and the Simple Flower in Pumpkin Pie.  The leaf adds some texture as well.  It was made with the small oval punch and the paper crimper.

I love the new Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and how well it fits in the Modern Label punch.  These are 2 must haves from the new catalog!

And I'm absolutely crazy about the polka-dot ribbon!!  One roll goes a long way.  I made over 30 of these cards and didn't run out!  WOW!
