Flower Power Part 2

Here are the other 2 cards from the recent Flower Power Cards Class.  We used the Blossom Builders kit to create the flower.  I was surprised to find out that some of the flowers coordinated beautifully with the new Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper.

Daffodilflowerpower

The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and was stamped on one of the "flag"-thingys in the kit.  I attached it to the cards with a hat pin (the ball at the end had fallen off when I took the pic, so imagine it doesn't look like an accident waiting to happen.).

Summer smooches brads

The brad in the center is part of Summer Smooches promotion and these are only available this month.  Be sure to add them to your order,as they are too cute to pass up!

The greeting on this card is from the stamp set, Perfectly Penned.

All of the cards from this class were quick, simple, and easy to duplicate.  Many of my class attendees stocked up on these beautiful papers, brads, and Blossom Builders kits so that they would also be able to make a fast card for any occasion.  And the best part is you don't need a ton of supplies!

Flower Power

The first class at my new Stampin' space was this past weekend.  I added a few more pictures of the space to my Facebook page.  I invite you to LIKE the page and leave me a comment with a suggestion for the new name of this space.  I've already gotten some good ideas and I'm seriously considering a few of them.

The class was called Flower Power and each person created 8 cards, 2 each of 4 designs, with the Blossom Builders kit in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  This kit is so much fun and we had a great time making some amazing flowers.

For two of the cards, I used a very simple design that allows Designer Series Paper to peek out from behind a punched out section of the card.  We then layered multiple flowers to create a beautiful bouqet.  The pink adhesive rhinestones are a nice and quick accent.

For this card, I used the Stripes Embossing Folder and the stamp set, Teeny Tiny Wishes.  The little "flag" piece also comes with the Blossom Builders kit....what a great value!!!

My New Stampin' Studio

The month of January brought some major changes to our family.  The week that I was suppose to be at Leadership in San Antonio, my daughter Bella was hospitalized and subsequently diagnosed with Crohn's Disease.  I had already planned to be off from work that week, so it actually worked out well considering the circumstances.

That week she was in the hospital was a bit of a blur, but my husband and I knew we would need to make some significant changes in our family's diet and our work schedules.  It was decided that I would work 2 days per week until Bella returned to school in the Fall.  I would take care of the meal-planning and grocery shopping that had become a bit more complicated.  Now, if you know me, you know that I'm always doing SOMETHING and working part-time/cooking would eventually drive me crazy if I didn't have another "project".

Sometime during January we received a call from the property manager of our office building.  The space next to us had just become available and it was being offered to us first before showing it to anyone else.  It's a small space and we've had our eye on it for awhile.  We just didn't have a reason to expand our chiropractic office, but we also didn't want anyone else to have it.

My husband came home from work one night and asked if I thought I could cover the rent of the additional space by holding stamping classes there.  What an idea!  He is a brilliant man after all.  We went back and forth for several weeks, then finally decided to take the plunge.

The space needed a little work and a lot of cleaning.  The walls that were originally Baby Poop Yellow (yes, that's a real color) were painted a soft, light blue.  I added some Decor Elements to the walls, a few pieces of furniture from IKEA, tables, chairs, and VOILA!  A new stamping space for all of my classes.

There is plenty of parking, it is well-lit, safe, centrally-located in Kokomo off US 31, and close to many hotels and restaurants.  I look forward to hosting some scrapbooking weekends in addition to my regular classes.

So, after a lot of hard work, I held the first class this past Saturday.  My ladies enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere of the studio and most of them signed up for another class before leaving.

Question of the Day:  What should I name the new space?  I previously held classes at "The Stamp Shack" and this place is definitely NOT a shack.  I'm looking for some creative ideas from the most creative people I know.

Paper Doily Die

When I have a creative block, I find it helpful to watch other people do the stamping.  That is why I love YouTube!  Stampin' Up! has their own channel featuring great projects with some of our latest and greatest products.

I loved the Doily Die when I first saw it in the Occasions Mini Catalog, but wasn't sure what to do with it.  I had also planned to demonstrate the use of this die in my "Cards to Die For" class and I was running out of time.  This video came to my rescue.

I was trying to use only the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper on my cards for this class, so I did alter Carrie's original design.  My customers loved it, even though it was a more-involved card than we usually do in class.

I'm back!!!!!

As you can imagine, I needed a little time off after Bella's recent illness.  I have started a new blog about our Crohn's journey called Honey Precious.  We saw her GI specialist last week, and even though Bella looks great and has tons of energy right now, we have been told that looks can be very deceiving.  Children with Crohn's Disease often look fine from the outside, but an active disease will keep them from growing and feeling their best.  So, if you ask me how she is doing......yeah, I'm not sure.  We'll know more as time goes by.

Now, I have been stamping a little.  It's mostly been on projects for UStamp with Dawn & Friends SCORE! and Big Shot Round Up, but I'm also working on my upcoming classes.  If you are local, be sure to check out my class schedule....there are some real treats in store for you!

Today I'm sharing a bunch of UStamp projects at once.  You can get the full tutorials for these projects and many, many more by visiting SCORE! or Big Shot Round UP.  It's worth every penny and I know you'll love the amazing projects.
