My card for today features an unusual color combination:  Tangerine Tango, Marina Mist, and River Rock.  I would never have put these colors together myself, however, I really like the way it turned out.

Masculine Birthday Card

Masculinebirthdaycard
If you are like most stampers that I know, you struggle with making cards for the men in your life.....especially when you have a collection of pretty papers and embellishments.

I think the most important aspect of a masculine card is the color scheme.  I chose River Rock, Chocolate Chip, Not Quite Navy and Old Olive for this card.  No, I'm not a creative color genius....I just picked out the manly colors from this paper in the Paisley Petals Designer Series Paper.

Stamping 411 Sketch--Happy Mother's Day

There is a great sketch this week on the Stamping 411 blog and I decided to play along.  Sketches always seem to help me get the mojo flowing.

SSC199
I had to turn the sketch sideways to get it to work.  This card features the Paisley Petals DSP and Four Frames stamp set.  I am loving this paper!!

MothersdaycardCheck out the small rosette--I used a Peach Parfait marker to color the flower so that it would coordinate with the Tangerine Tango that is in the paper.  I used a lighter color marker because it tends to turn out a shade or two darker on the rosette.

Speaking of the colors that coordinate with the Paisley Petals DSP....there are quite a few!

  • River Rock

  • Chocolate Chip

  • Baja Breeze

  • Marina Mist

  • Not Quite Navy

  • Old Olive

  • Cherry Cobbler

  • Tangerine Tango

I'm Still Stampin....

Although I haven't had a ton of time lately to devote to stamping, I have been able to crank out a few cards.  Here is one that features many of the Sew Suite products from the Occasions Mini Catalog:

For the main image, I used the Sweet Stitches rub-ons, then colored the image with Stampin' Write markers.  The ribbon is Early Espresso Satin Ribbon "tied" with a Sweet Stitches Fabric Designer Brad.  All of the background papers are included in the Sweet Stitches Designer Series Paper pack.

If you have any of these items on your wish list, you'll want to order right away.  The Occasions Mini catalog sales period ends April 30th!

Remember, you can shop in your pj's on my Stampin' Up website.

Happy Stampin'
