Rockabilly Cards

Rockabilly cards

Yourock

We'll be making one of these fun pocket cards at my Big Shot Bonanza class this weekend.  The pocket is created with the pennant die.  How cool is that???

The cards feature images and the saying "You Rock" from the Just Jawing stamp set.  I colored the hearts and cherries with a Real Red Stampin' Write marker, then added crystal effects for shine.  I outlined the skull with a Sahara Sand Stampin' Write marker to add some depth and dimension.  And finally, I added a touch of dazzling diamonds to one of his teeth.

There are still a few days left to take advantage of the Buy 3, Get 1 FREE designer series paper special.  Be sure to add the Rockabilly specialty designer series paper to your order.  It's so fun and whimsical to work with!  You can SHOP NOW on my Stampin Up website and have your order delivered straight to your door.

Here For You

I hope you've enjoyed the sneak peek at this week's Stamp-a-Stack cards.  This one is definitely my favorite!!!

Flourishcard

The background was wheeled with Night of Navy ink using the Friendly Words jumbo wheel.  The flourish and "here for you" are from the Friends 24-7 stamp set.  Both images were stamped with Night of Navy ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock.  The greeting was punched out with the designer label punch.  I cut one end off the Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware with my neglected Craft & Rubber scissors, then tied navy grosgrain ribbon onto the other end.  As a finishing touch, I used a stampin' sponge to add color to the edges of the cardstock.

Brownfriendcard

Here is another card that we will be making at the Stamp-a-Stack class on Friday night.  I used the Friends 24-7 stamp set and Bella Bleu designer series paper again....just changed the colors up a little.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Fold 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" Very Vanilla cardstock in half to create card base.

  2. Adhere 4" x 5-1/4" Kraft cardstock to front of Very Vanilla card.

  3. Cut Bella Bleu designer series paper to 2" x 4" and adhere to bottom portion of Kraft cardstock.

  4. Die cut 2 Scallop Oval Frames--one in Chocolate Chip and one in Very Vanilla

  5. Ink floral stamp with Chocolate Chip ink, stamp off one time, and then stamp in center of Very Vanilla oval.

  6. Stamp "the happiest business...." in Chocolate Chip ink (full strength) on top of floral image.

  7. Adhere Chocolate Chip scallop oval to front of card first, then adhere Very Vanilla oval.

Fun with Stencils

I've seen so many beautiful projects with the Kind Thoughts Floruish stencil, so I had to try it out for myself.  It is super EASY to use and I just love the result.

We made this 2 page scrapbook layout at our May scrapbook class:

Maysb

I used a sponge and Not Quite Navy ink with the Kind Thoughts Flourish stencil to create the image on the first page.  A large pearl from the Pretties kit was added to center.

The "friendship" title was created with the Jumble Alphabet, available this month for 20% off the regular price.  This alphabet set will be available in the upcoming 2009-2010 catalog.

The "happpiest business in the world..." stamp is from the set, Friends 24-7.

The Designer Series Paper featured on this layout is called Bella Bleu.  The catalog does not do it justice!! It is gorgeous......and on sale this month.  Check out the Buy 3, Get 1 Free special on all Designer Series Paper.  Now is a great time to stock up on lots of pretty papers.

HPIM1050

The second page of the layout was simply stamped with the Flourish from the Friends 24-7 stamp along the outside edge of the Kraft cardstock with Versamark ink.

I used the Frame Oval Scallop sizzix die to create the Floral Accent piece.  The stamp is also from Friends 24-7.

The final touches include vanilla hodgepodge hardware, vanilla taffeta ribbon, and a scallop border on the photo mat.

And here is a card we'll be creating at the Stamp-a-Stack on Friday, May 22nd.  There are still a few spots available if you would like to attend.

Kindthoughtscard

You would not believe how quickly this card comes together!!!!  I used the sponge with Not Quite Navy ink to create the Flourish with the stencil, added a strip of Bella Bleu designer series paper, cream taffeta ribbon, and stamped the greeting from the stamp set, Sincere Salutations.
