Big Shot Easter Basket

Oh, I love this project!  I was inspired by another demonstrator on SUDSOL to create this adorable Easter basket with the Stampin' Up! scallop envelope die.  This die comes in the Big Shot starter kit and I hate to admit it, but this is the first time I've used it!

This project requires 6 scallop envelopes.  It is best to use sticky strip to hold it together.  I added Raspberry Tart DSP to the sides and created a handle from addtional cardtsock and DSP.

This project is so fun and easy.  We will be making baskets at Amy's workshop on Friday and I really hope everyone enjoys it.

As a reminder, now is a great time to purchase a BIG SHOT.  You'll receive FREE sale-a-bration stamp sets with your purchase, plus you can attend the BIG SHOT bonanza class on March 29th at a discount.  Contact me for complete details.

March Scrapbook Club Layout

March Club Pages

Scrapbook Club will meet this Sunday.  If you live in or near Kokomo, IN, you can sign up for Meetup.com to be notified of all my upcoming events.

Each month, members make a 2-page layout.  I try to do seasonal pages, so it looks like I may be jumping the gun this month.  I'm sooooooo ready for Spring to be here!

March Page1

Both pages feature the Delicate Dots Designer Series Paper, Sale-a-Bration ribbon bundle, and a couple of my favorite Big Shot dies---Stampin' Up! Beautiful Butterflies and Daisies #2.

Butterflycu

I layered 2 butterflies together with dimensionals, and then tied a small piece of certainly celery grosgrain to create a body and antennae.

March Page2

The second page has photo mats for 2, 4" x 6" photos.  I added a pearl from the Pretties kit to the center of each small butterfly.  The edges were slightly distressed and sponged with So Saffron ink.

Littlebutterflycu

The Daisies #2 die cuts flowers in 3 sizes.  I layered all 3 pieces together and added a 1/2" circle punched from the Delicate Dots DSP to the the center.

Daisiescu

There is still time to earn FREE Sale-a-Bration items with every $50 purchase.  Visit my Stampin' Up! website to SHOP NOW.

More Cake

Alright.....I'm addicted to this cake Pop-Up die from Sizzix.  This is just too much fun to work with!

Today, I made a girly birthday cake using the Sweet Always Designer Series paper.

Here is the close-up of the cake:

And I just had to use the new scallop oval punch again.  I also added a chocolate chip felt fusion flower and a rose red brad. The sentiment is stamped in Chocolate chip ink and is from the A Little Birthday Cheer stamp set.

I hope you've enjoyed this cake.  Happy Stampin'

Let's Have Some Cake!

Have you seen the new Pop-Up dies from SIZZIX?  They are amazing!  Stampin' Up! will carry the Pop-Up Cake and Ball.  Both will be available to order on April 1st, but here is your sneak peek:

Cakefront

I used the Together Forever stamp set, a Pretties flower and pearl, plus a silver clip on the card front.  The clip holds the card together nicely, because when you open it up, it looks like this:

On the close-up, you'll see that I added more Pretties flowers, pearls, and paper flowers punched with the trio flower punch.  Each layer was embossed with a different Texturz plate and the flowers were added with mini glue dots to create a floral cascade down the cake.  The bride and groom are also part of the die.

And did you see the "Best Wishes" stamp and the oval scallop punch?  Both will be available in the Occasions Mini catalog on April 1st.

Closeupcake

So what you are probably wondering is.....how hard is it to make one of these cakes?

Well, it's not exactly a "piece of cake".  It only takes about 10 minutes to put the actual cake together.  The die has cut and score marks, plus there are great directions.

My first attempt did not go well.  I may have been too tired for this type of project, but I thought you might like to see my first project with the pop-up cake die:

Oops

Pretty, huh?  It's in the trash now, but I decided to make lemonade with the card base.  I think it turned out pretty cute!  Notice the saying on the front of the card (thinking happy thoughts)...that was my mantra on project number 2.  LOL!

Oops2

There are still 2 weeks left for my Birthday Card contest.  The winner will receive a FREE stamp set of her choice.  Plus, you may just see your card featured on my blog.

Happy Birthday to Me

It's sad, but true....I'll be turning another year older in just 2 weeks.  I'm too young to be 39!!!!  Luckily, this card cheers me up.

The owl was made entirely from Stampin' Up! punches--scallop circle, round tab, 5-petal flower, Boho Blossoms, 3/4" circle, 1/2" circle, and 1/4" circle.  We made this card at my last Stamp-a-Stack and everyone loved it!

The card also features the Good Morning Sunshine DSP and a Pacific Point corduroy button.  So cute!
