A New Scallop Punch!

I've had quite a few people ask about the new scallop edge punch that Stampin' UP! will be offering in the upcoming 2008 Fall--Winter Idea Book & Catalog.  Here is a picture of one of my convention swap cards that uses just a tiny bit of the border punch:

Scallop-1

The stamp set is also new and it is called Dreams du Jour.  I used Elegant Eggplant and Pretty in Pink.  The "dreams" image is stamped on shimmery white cardstock and has a beautiful, subtle sparkle.

Scallop 2

The scallop border punch works in 2 inch increments and the scallops on the long part act as a guide for continuous punching.  Therefore, you can now create long scallop borders without much effort!

Scallop-3

The individual scallops measure approximately 3/8", and as you can see in the photo, 1 inch is equal to about 2-1/2 scallops.

This punch will be available to order on August 11th and will sell for $15.95 US.  It looks like there will be many MUST-HAVE items from the new catalog.  Consider joining a club to budget your purchases this fall and receive some great freebies!  The first 15 people to join will also receive the Spring-Summer 2008 Collection (current catalog), a Decor Elements brochure, and a hand crafted card.

Sneak Peek

I've been playing with a new stamp set from the upcoming 2008 Stampin' Up! Fall--Winter Idea Book & Catalog.  It's called Sock Monkey and it is super cute!!!

Sock-monkey

To create the monkey, I began by inking up the Canvas Background stamp with chocolate chip ink and stamping onto Very Vanilla Cardstock.  I stamped one monkey image onto the canvas background, another onto a 3" very vanilla square, and a final image on a scrap piece of Very Vanilla.  I cut out the canvas body parts and paper pieced over the monkey on the 3" square.  I used the scap piece to cut out the "mouth" and popped it up with a dimensional.  The red areas were colored with the real red Stampin' Write marker.

I'm very busy right now, getting ready for convention and traveling for seminars.  My posting schedule will probably be a little erratic the next few weeks, but I'll be back in full force by the beginning of August with new ideas from convention.

Have a great week!
