Holy Triptych Angel Card

Hpim1573_2

Wow! I can't believe there is less than 1 week to order from the Holiday Mini Catalog!  One of my favorite stamp sets is Holy Triptych and I've been wanting to share this card with you for some time now.  The card base is very vanilla.  The back gold layer is the brushed gold cardstock stamped with the Fine Lace background stamp and embossed with gold powder.  The angel and "noel" are also gold embossed.  I added torn white mulberry paper to mimic angel wings.  Enjoy!  And don't forget to order this stamp set today!

And there are only a few spots left in the last minute gifts class scheduled for Sunday, December 2nd.  I'm pretty sure we will be at capacity, so if you are planning to attend, you must RSVP quickly before all the spots are gone!

Retirement List Contest

As many of you know, Stampin' Up! is now unveiling two catalogs per year.  On December 1st, the company will announce the stamp sets that are retiring from the Fall & Winter Collection 2007.

To participate in this contest, you need to study your catalog or click the link on the right to view it online.  Make a list of 10 stamp sets that you think will appear on the retirement list and email it to me.  melissa42@msn.com

You have until midnight on November 30th to submit your list.  The person with the most correct answers will win a retiring stamp set from my personal collection.

And if you do not have a copy of the current catalog, please email me and I will get one to you ASAP.  I have approximately 10 copies available, so don't delay.

More Craft Fair Samples

Hpim1581

I promised to share more items from the recent craft fairs.  The countdown calendar above has an opening that I have placed magnetic numbered tags inside.  It would also be great for storing Christmas Cards.  The large polka dot piece is magnetic so that the numbers can be changed daily.  I only had time to make one of these and it sold quickly.

Hpim1584

This is a set of 4 tumbled marble tile coasters made with the Baroque Motifs stamp set.  I made 4 sets and sold 3.  These are super easy to make and we'll be making them at the last minute gifts class on December 2nd---have you signed up yet?

Hpim1592

These are small 4" x 4" frames made with the Big On Christmas stamp set.  They flew off the table!

Hopefully, you've gotten some ideas for Holiday gifts to give to family and friends or to sell at your craft fairs.  I'm happy to announce that Stampin' Up! is changing their policy on selling handmade items beginning today, November 15th.  Hand-stamped items may now be sold in retail locations and over the internet.  For those of you that may be interested in pursuing a career in paper-crafting, I'd love to speak with you about the benefits of becoming a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.  You can also visit the Demonstrator FAQ page on the right hand side of this website for more information.

Craft Fairs

Hpim1585

Well, I think I have finally recovered from the last 2 craft fairs!  I can't believe how much work goes into making one of these events successful.

I wanted to show you a picture of my booth at the fair, but I had customers as soon as the booth was photo-ready and it never really looked the same again!  So, I guess you'll just have to settle for pictures of some of the items I sold.

Hpim1587_2

These are domino magnets made with the punch pals set.  I stamped the dominos with black stazon ink, then colored the images with sharpies.  I let them dry overnight, then coated them with versamark ink, sprinkled iridescent ice embossing powder over them and heat set--I've done it with the oven and the heat tool--both work!  Finally, I added a magnet to the back.  Voila!  I also plan to make these at the upcoming last minute gifts class on December 2nd.

Hpim1588

I found 2" tiles at Lowes recently and remembered this cute project.  You simply stamp and color the tiles just like the dominos.  Then add a clothespin to the back and tie with ribbon.  These noteholders are perfect for displaying a business card, small photo, or greeting card.

Hpim1589

Here is a bucket of jumbo clippies--the perfect bookmark!  I discovered the cute bucket at the $1 spot at Target and filled it with the large paperclips.  The paperclips are sandwiched between identical stamped, punched, and glittered pieces adhered with a pop-up glue dot.  I tied gingham ribbon around the clips to give them a finished look.

Most of these items sold for $1 - $2.  I'll share some of the higher priced items in upcoming posts, so stay tuned.
